Why rely on stylized stick figures? Here, there are a wide range of "realistic" characters and settings. US Marines on Easter Island! A CNN type reporter interviewing a cowboy in front the the pyramids! Let your imagination go wild. Generating and using cartoons for political effect is a great idea!
